About Willowbend Animal Hospital – Full Service Veterinary Health Care
Willowbend Animal Hospital was established in August of 2012 by Dr. Michael R Johnson. We understand that each patient is a unique individual. We also realize that none of our patients can verbally tell us how they feel. It is our responsibility to speak for the pet. We do this by giving the pet our best every time. It means we do not take shortcuts. We ask questions, we listen, and we examine the pet from nose to tail, we may do laboratory tests. It also means we make recommendations to the pet owner about what we feel is in the pet’s best interest. If we don’t, the pet may suffer the consequences of an undiagnosed or untreated disease.
Dr. Michael R. Johnson, DVM
Dr. Johnson is a 1993 graduate of Iowa State University. He has practiced in Wichita for 20 years. He enjoys all areas of veterinary medicine but is most passionate about diagnosing and treating chronic pain in pets. One of Dr. Johnson’s primary goals for Willowbend Animal Hospital is to provide pets with the opportunity to live life as fully as they can. A major aspect of this is to be pain-free or, for those with chronic pain, to have their pain managed as optimally as possible. Dr. Johnson finds that improving the quality of life for a pet is extremely rewarding. He enjoys spending time with his pets, traveling, listening to music, and exercising.
Dr. Johnson is a member of the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association, the Humane Society American Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Association of Feline Practitioners.

Dr. Brittany Streiff, DVM
Dr. Brittany Streiff is a K-State graduate and has 11 years of clinical experience. Her areas of interest include soft tissue surgery and feline medicine. She has a dog, Finnick, who was a research dog until she adopted him. She has a cat named Kiya. Dr. Streiff loves to travel and has been to 11 countries. She enjoys running and has completed three marathons and Pikes Peak Ascent twice.
